Wet Umbrella Dryer Microfiber Pad Hygiene

Wet Umbrella Dryer Microfiber Pad Hygiene

During Wet Umbrella Dryer Rollout to Queensland Health and Ramasy Health the question of Microfiber Pad Hygiene was raised. In the medical field Hygiene is of the highest priority. This got us thinking of how we can use water damage product for infection control. During the research a perfect product for their demanding environment came up. Not only is mould in the pad a concern, but that all other contamination should be controlled.

Bisoan 2 was found to have meet all the criteria and more! Not only is this a water damage restoration chemical, it’s also for infectious diseases control, maintenance, to a hospital grade disinfectant and is TGA approved. At a dilution ration of 1:32 this product will kill the following pathogens: SARS-CoV-2 (VOVID-19 Virus), Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA or Golden Staph), Escerichia Coli (E-Coli), Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Proteus Vulgaris, Aspergillus Brasiliensis and Salmonella Choleraesuis. While being not toxic.

Wet Umbrella now applies Biosan 2 giving the client 1 month protection against mould and pad hygiene to all our microfiber pads. This covers your pad from its first use, before any washing. With the adoption of Biosan 2, we have introduced a recommended washing program to maintain the hygiene of our microfiber pads.
This pad washing route should be followed after a full day of use, particularly if the pad has been saturated above 50% in a single use or if 30 days have passed since its last wash.
1.    Remove the microfiber pad from the machine by pulling out and releasing the Velcro all around the edges.
2.    Wash the pad in a washing machine using a cold wash cycle with a microfiber washing chemical or a pH neutral detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners.
3.    After washing, soak the pad in Biosan 2 at a ratio of 1:32 for one hour in cold water.
4.    Place the pad back in the washing machine and run only the spin cycle. Do not rinse out the Biosan 2.
5.    Hang the pad out to dry in the sun until completely dry.
By following these steps, your pad will have 30 days or one use over 50% saturation of hygiene protection. When the pad is used again or once 30 days have elapsed since the last wash, simply repeat the washing process above. This routine will guarantee pad hygiene and protect your pad from mould for life. Do keep in mind that microfiber pads will eventually require replacement, and we stock all necessary parts and replacement pads for your convenience.
